January Scrap the Girls Challenge

Welcome 2018!!!!!

Happy New Year to you.....I really hope it's a year of happiness, creativity and Inspiration, with some laughter and joy thrown in there too.

So a New Year means a new challenge over at the fabulous Scrap the Girls.

Wait til you see the challenges coming up.
I squealed at some of them.....yep they are really cool, and there's a few that are really outside of the box. I really love that......they push me creatively to try something different, to experiment, to play....and that is often when the BEST ideas happen.
So I encourage you to play along this year, it's going to be lots of FUN!

Anyway lets get on with the current challenge.....

Here it is......

Gorgeous Blues!! Love Love Love

Here's my take on it...

I took inspiration from the Blues colour palette, and the music theme, and also the circles.

To create the circles I used the Interlocking Scribble Circles Metal Die from Uniquely Creative.

These are great Dies that cut beautifully and I'm really loving using my Cuttlebug again.  I'd forgotten how much I loved it.

I cut some circles with black cardstock, and some with white cardstock to which I added a few flicks of London Blue Dylusions Spray Ink.

I also used 13 Arts paper for my background and added a few flicks of the Dylusions Spray.  Both of these are available from Scrap Matrix.

I added a few embellishments from Kit the Habit - the flair, the acrylic music notes and the quotes. They are just perfect for this layout and this challenge.

This month our sponsor is The Resin Rainbow.

Janet has some really cool embellishments, so head over and check them out.

Don't forget to join in our challenge - just head to the blog and link up your layout, or pop it on our facebook site.

Scrap the Girls October Challenge

Good morning everyone

I'm here to share the new challenge for Scrap the Girls.

This one's a beauty and works perfectly with all your girly pictures.

Yep draw inspirations from this moodboard.

Now I'm not a pinky person, but as it's teamed with black and white I knew I was all set!

Here's what I came up with:

A photo taken recently at my daughter's 16th birthday.

Her and her gorgeous friends.

Definitely a photo to scrap.

I used a subtle pink on my background and then added in stronger highlights of pink.

I used a 2Crafty Chipboard 'gorgeous'  title and Doily Frames, which I painted in black.

I added in some metals from Scrap Matrix.  This place seriously has the best metals and they are a bargain price!  You can shop for them HERE.

Most of them come in a brassy vintage colour, but I wanted them to be a bit funkier, so I applied white gesso and black gesso to them.  Love the way they turned out!

The 7Dots Tags came from Scrap Matrix too.

I also added lots of Kit the Habit goodies.

There's some die cut feathers, some acetate 'play' shapes, and that quote is from our 'Little Bit of Randoms'.  It works perfectly for this story.  I think the 'Randoms' are my favourite Kit the Habit item!
Although really it's like choosing a favourite child - it's not possible and it changes depending on the day!

This month's sponsor is the delightful Janet from Resin Rainbow.  Her stuff is so cool.  You can check it out on her Etsy Store HERE.

I can't wait to see all your entries this month, so don't forget to link up on our BLOG.  Whilst you are there, do yourself a favour and check out all the inspiration from the other Design Team Members.  They've totally nailed this challenge.

See you soon

My second 2Crafty Chipboard share for September.....

My second layout for 2 Crafty Chipboard this month is titled

"Enjoy"

I used the following 2 Crafty Chipboard:

"Grid Bits:
"Fine Heart Borders"
"Winter Twig Branches"
"Mini Words Set 1"

I added gesso to the "Grid Panel", and applied it in a random fashion - I didn't want it to be totally white, I wanted some of the raw chippy to show through as I felt the colour tone worked well with the colours in my layout.

I added white gesso to the "Winter Twig Branches" and cut these into small pieces which created an arrow looking piece of chippy.

I coated the "Fine Heart Borders" with white gesso and then added some soft yellow ink to these.

I took the word "Enjoy" from the "Fine Words Set 1" and coated it in white gesso. I then added some light blue ink to this.

Love those grey acrylic pieces from Kit the Habit. The feathers are from there too!

I like the soft pastel look of this layout.
I'm sure many of you know I'm a big fan of bold, bright colour, so this was really different for me.

It's always fun to step out of your comfort zone every now and then!

Thanks for stopping by!!

My first September share for 2 Crafty Chipboard

Hi everyone, I'm here to share my first layout for the month for 2Crafty Chipboard.

It's titled:

"Summer"

I used the following 2 Crafty Chipboard:
"Line Words- Summer"
"Flower Doilies"
"Assorted Arrows"

I gave all the Chipboard a coat of gesso.

I left the "Flower Doily" like this and tucked it into my layers.

For my 'Summer' title from the "Line Words - Summer" pack I added some coffee!
Yep you heard correct - coffee!

You see I was scrapping away - not in my scrap room - and I'd forgotten my brown coloured spritzes, so I added some water to coffee to make a liquid mix and simply brushed this over the top of the title.

I love the colour and effect.

I did the same to the "Assorted Arrows"

Even the splashes and circles were created with the coffee.
For the circles I created my own stamp by using the ends of a finished roll of Cling Wrap.

I really love how the coffee colour works with the turquoise, the white and the woodgrain.

The following items I got from Scrap Matrix - woodgrain paper, background stamps, metal flower charm, tag.

There's also some paper and 'Randoms' from the awesome Kit the Habit.

I'll be back real soon with my second share.

Playing with Kit the Habit's Cozy Feels Kit

Hi everyone,

I recently had a chance to play with our gorgeous new Kit the Habit 'Cozy Feels' Kit.

It's a book/coffee/tea themed Kit and I LOVE it!

Here's what I created:

This layout is about the joy of escaping into a book.

Liam has recently discovered the joy of reading and I love that he gets totally 'lost' in the book, oblivious to whatever else is going on.  Every now and then he pops his head up and asks how to pronounce a word, or asks for clarification on its meaning.  Then he's back into the book, absorbed again.

I used lots of bits and pieces from the 'Cozy Feels' Kit - you will find some 'Little Bit of Randoms', a handmade paper scroll, twine, a variety of papers, a flair (I absolutely love that book flair), and some Chipboard which is from my favourite brand - 2Crafty Chipboard - but is included in the kit.

I used stacks of goodies from Scrap Matrix too.  Vicki has some awesome products in her store and you can order online!

I used Dylusions Spray - , Mesh Tape, 7Dots Dreamscapes Stamp, 7Dots Hazy Days Stamp, Black Gesso and a  Metal Charm.

I also applied some of the Finnabair Rust Paste to the 2Crafty Chipboard, and also to the metal charms.  I love the colour and the rusty finish it gives things.  Perfect for this boy layout.

Had so much fun creating the cluster of metals around the photo.

We do have some of the awesome 'Cozy Feels' Kits left.

This is what it looks like:

Aren't the colours just gorgeous!

So if you'd like one head on over to our Facebook Page and just comment 'sold' on the Kit and we will be in touch!

I've already got ideas for some more layouts, so hopefully I will have time to play again real soon!!

Hi everyone

September 1st....what!! How that is even possible is beyond me.

This month it's a sketch......

Here's my take on it......

So much fun with this one.....

Lots of 2 Crafty Chipboard...... 6" revolution frame, spring flower bunches, beauty from fine wordset 2 as my title and angel wings.

Love that chippy cluster with the angel wings and spring flower bunches peeking through!

First 2 Crafty Chipboard share for August

I'm here to share my latest creation for 2 Crafty Chipboard

My first project this month has a You Tube process video and it's titled

"Capture the Sillies"

A fun layout that captures every day life at my place!

I used the following 2 Crafty Chipboard:

"Hessian Patch Panels"
"Punctuation"
"Chevron Bits"
"Mini Fast Forward Arrows"
"Mini Word Set 1"

I painted the "Hessian Patch Panels" black

I also did this to the "Chevron Bits" and the bracket from the "Punctuation" Set.

I love how black really pops against white and bright colours.

I used some of my favourite colours in this layout.  I adore teal and lime together.

I also painted the word 'capture' from the "Mini Word Set 1" pack in a black, and then I swiped some of Finnabair's Art Alchemy Opal Magic Acrylic Paint in Aqua/Rose over the top.

On white it has a pink colour, but when applied to a black background it turns this amazing teal!

You'll see it on the video I've posted below......pink in the jar, but changes once applied to the black! Super cool!

Fantastic on chipboard as there's no heat gun required!!

I love this product and got it on a recent shopping spree at Scrap Matrix.  There's tonnes of colours, I can't wait to try a few more!

I also applied this technique to the "Mini Fast Forward Arrows"

I've also used some 'Little bit of Randoms' by Kit the Habit.

Kit the Habit is the collaboration of me and Emzascrapper - every now and then we design and create some little scrappy products to use on our layouts, and yep we sell kits every so often.

We have a facebook group you can join HERE where you will find these kits and also some inspiration and general banter.
I'd love you to join us!

You can watch me create this layout, as I've created a You Tube video:

I'm quite new to this process video thing.......so I'd love you to watch and let me know what you think!

Much love

I'll be back soon
