My second March Layout for 2Crafty.....

Today I'm sharing with you my second layout for 2Crafty Chipboard for March.

It's titled: "Make a Difference"

This one is much softer than my usual style, although I couldn't help adding black to give it contrast.

The theme of this layout is a serious one - it's all about my passion for preventing and reducing violence against women.
This inspired the hearts, the title and the soft colour palette.

For this layout I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard pieces:

"Make a Difference title"
"Drawn Heart Frame"
"Heart Clumps"
"Fine Leafy Bush"
"ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars"

I painted the "Drawn Heart Frame" and the "Make a Difference title" black, as I wanted these to 'pop' against the soft colours.

I painted the "Fine Leafy Bush" white.
I then cut off the little clusters and poked these in around the flowers.

I embossed the "Heart Clumps" with a gorgeous cream emboss powder,
which has a hint of pink and gold in it. So pretty!

I then painted some hearts from the "ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars" in a soft pink paint.
I scattered these randomly on the layout.

You will notice this layout moves from the top left corner, down to the bottom right corner.
This creates movement through the page.
I used the frame and the clusters of embellishments to draw the eye into the photo.

I finished off with the most important part.....the story, the journaling.

Until next time
xxx

My first 2Crafty Share for March....

Good morning everyone!

A few days ago it was my turn to share over on the 2Crafty Chipboard blog,  and I'm excited to share it here today.

It's titled "Just the 3 of Us"

This one is a bright, colourful one and you know how much I LOVE colour!

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

"Just the 3 of us title"
"6" Revolution Frame"
"Assorted Arrows"

I painted some of the "Assorted Arrows" black and also my title "Just the 3 of Us" black too.

I find this grounds them, and allows them to pop against the bright colours.

I painted the "6 " Revolution Frames" orange.
I went with orange as it contrasts well with the background.

I used the large one to frame my photo, and the smaller ones I tucked underneath my layers, making sure some of them were poking out.

A happy, bright page celebrating myself and my 2 kiddos and how much we love being together.

I'll be back again very soon!

Anna's Craft Cupboard Challenges

Over the last two months I found time to participate in a couple of challenges over at Anna's Craft Cupboard.

I'm enjoying having a bit more time to go in challenges.

I really like how challenges push me in a particular direction, and make me try new things and think a little out of the box.

The first challenge was last month's sketch challenge:

As soon as I saw it I loved it!!

Here's what I came up with:

I created a watercolour background and then used stamps and paint to create the background.

I used 2Crafty Chipboard Frames and Mini Hearts plus lots of stickers and layers behind the photo.

This month's challenge is a Colour Challenge:

I adore the colours, and as it's all about Autumn I thought of a photo I have been wanting to scrap that fits perfectly.

Here's my take on it:

Lots of 2Crafty Chipboard!

I hope the leaves look like they are falling, as that's the effect I was going for.

I used an embossing powder on some of the chippy and it gives an awesome metal look and feel to the chipboard.  Very cool.

I enjoyed using up lots of frames, and edges of stickers.  I added them together - some with foam tape to give added dimension.

I love the result!

If you want to have a go head HERE

Thanks for popping by!

More than Words March Challenge

Last month I joined in the More than Words Challenge for the first time.
What an inspiring blog that is.....so much inspiration.

I encourage you to go have a look...you'll be glad you did.

Last month I received a 'Spotlight' on my layout which I am pretty thrilled with.
So I thought I'd have a go at this month's challenge.

Yep, use the word 'beautiful' and use a butterfly. Oh the possibilities!

Here's what I came up with:

Lots of layers, lots of my favourite chipboard 2Crafty and yep a few butterflies.

I even put one at the top of the page:

I'm really enjoying going in a few challenges.  I used to go in heaps of them, but Design Team commitments overtook.  So I'm excited to participate again, and I love how the challenges give you some direction, and make you try new things, and think outside of the box.

March Scrap the Girls Challenge!

Hi everyone!

Well it's the first of March already!! Can you believe it?
So that means new challenge time!
YAY!!!!!

So over at Scrap the Girls this month we have an awesome challenge:

I love it for so many reasons......

I love that it puts YOU in the layout.
So often we scrap everyone but ourselves.
So often we photograph everyone but ourselves.

So this month it's time to flip your camera around......it's selfie time!!

I can't wait to see YOU guys!
If this scares you - why not put a creative spin on it.....take a photo of your feet, for example, Here I stood.
Or a photo of part of you.
Oh the possibilities!!

So it's time to share my layout:

I love the colours together, and I even don't mind the photo.

Here's a few close ups:

And most importantly......the journaling.

Some thoughts about myself at 43.

Some things I'm working on.

Yep definitely a work in progress.......

This month there is an awesome prize from the best Chipboard Company around, 2Crafty!

You will notice I used some of their chipboard on my layout......who am I kidding, you will find 2Crafty on all my layouts!

This time around I used some Polaroid Frames and the fine hearts border.  I painted them to match my photo, and then added some stamping to the frames.

So come on girls, let's do this!!

I can't wait to see what you create, and learn a bit more about you!!
