My final DT share for All About Scrapbooks.....

Good morning everyone

Well I write this post with a lot of  sadness.
You see this is my last post as part of the All About Scrapbooks Design Team.

I have absolutely LOVED my time sharing on their blog each week.

All About Scrapbooks always has the latest and greatest product so creating with these each week was something I loved and looked forward to each week.

I'd like to thank Vanessa for giving me this opportunity - for believing in me.
It's been a real privilege.

Beginning in March is a new Design Team, and I know they will bring you lots of wonderful inspiration.  I'll definitely be popping back to get my creative juices flowing.

Anyway, let's have a look at my final layout!

This one was created using Simple Stories Love & Adore collection.

I was completely inspired by this one piece of paper!

Many of you know that I love adding big swipes of paint on my layouts.

But I know to some of you, it is Scary!
So this paper has done it for you!!!!
I love it when companies create these cool artsy papers.

I just added some embellishments - some I fussy cut from paper,
some are stickers and some of them are Die Cuts.

I also added some 2Crafty Chipboard for the title, and bordered the layout with a contrast paper and pretty much that was it!!

So fun and so easy!

Some of you know that I document our everyday stories through Project Life.

Using this gorgeous range, with my leftover bits and pieces I have created a weekly spread.

Here's the left side:

 And here's the right:

Love the colours!!

Well that's it from me.

Let's hold hands.....

Good morning everybody.

I created today's layout for All About Scrapbooks

It is inspired by LOVE, as it's been Valentine's Day this week.

I used Crate Paper's Heart Day Collection.
Love teaming the pinks with blacks and grey!!

I began with clear gesso on my cardstock.
I then added some grey watercolour to the background and some flicks of black paint.

I created some layering around my photos with strips of paper - some I cut, some I tore an edge.

I then did some fussy cutting and added flowers and hearts and hugs and kisses that I cut from one of the papers.
Some of these I attached with foam tape to give some dimension.
I also fussy cut a title from one of the papers as it was just perfect for my photo.

I added a gorgeous 2Crafty Handmade Heart frame,
which I painted black and added to the photo.

I trimmed my cardstock, just a small amount off each side, and then adhered this to
a patterned paper, to create a border around the layout.

The final step, and the one that is most important to me is the journaling.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Project Life using 'Shine' by Kit the Habit

Hi everyone!

Well I finally got time to sit down with the awesome 'Shine' Kit and create.

I created a Project Life spread - I'm trying SO hard not to get behind on my Project Life.
This will be my third year of creating a weekly spread to document our everyday stories.
I got behind both last year and the year before - and the momunental task of catching up was awful!! It took the joy out of the creative outlet for me.
So this year it is my am to NOT fall behind, to push myself to keep up.
Wish me luck!!!!

So here it is.....

Sorry about the glare on the plastic sleeves!

Gosh I just love the colours.   Aaaah the simplicity of black, white and yellow and with all those awesome summery quotes I knew they would be PERFECT for my recent family holiday to the beach.

Here's the left hand side:

And here's the right:

Just love all the quotes, and I adore that palm tree frond black and white paper.

Such a great feeling to see another week done!

This kit is called 'Shine' and is the latest release for Kit the Habit - which is the awesome collaboration of myself and Emzascrapper

One of our aims with each kit is to use 'real life' quotes that are usable and relevant.  I'm just so over the 'perfect memories' and 'sweet' and 'cherish' quotes, because, well let's face it my life aint all that!!
My life is messy, busy, and at times crazy and I want quotes that reflect this.

I want to document our real life - the good, the bad and the ugly - I don't want it to be fake.  I want reality. (although having said that - one of the reasons I do Project Life is that it makes me find the 'good' - it makes me grateful for the little everyday things in my life. It helps me to be more positive).

So, if you missed the Kit.........here it is......

Awesome huh?
All the papers and embellishments have been designed by myself and Emma.  Love how unique that makes them.
A big shout out to 2Crafty Chipboard for the fabulous chipboard in the kits.  I cannot wait to use these.

The kits are $18 plus Postage and handling of $2 within Australia.

At this stage there's a couple left so head on over to Kit the Habit.

I'd love to see what you create with Kit the Habit's 'Shine' Kit.

February 2Crafty Share Part Two!

Hi everyone!

I'm back to share my second layout for 2Crafty Chipboard this month.

This layout is entitled "Happiness" is a fun, happy one celebrating my beautiful daughter.

For this layout I have used the following "2Crafty Chipboard":

"Line Words"
"Triangle Set"
"Fiddlesticks Panel"

I cut down the "Fiddlesticks Panel" and painted it white.

I really wanted to bring out the colours in the photos, so I painted some of the triangles in a grass green and a rich blue.

You may have worked out by now that I ADORE colour!

As I had worked down the page, from top to bottom, I added the title in the same way, to give cohesion to the layout.

I did the same with the journaling.

I hope you've enjoyed this share today.

2 Crafty February Share Part 1 including Process Video!!

Hi everybody.

Today I'm sharing my recent layout for 2Crafty Chipboard.  I even managed to create my first Process Video......Yep!! I'm so excited!! This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, and I finally figured it all out!!!

The layout is entitled 'Happiness is This'

This layout was inspired by February - the month of love.

I wanted to create a layout for my partner.  You see we live a few hours apart - we live in the same state, but with a couple of hundred kilometres inbetween.  At times it's difficult - so often I wish he was here, but at the moment that is how our lives are.

One of the great things about our situation though, is that when we do catch up, for example on a weekend, we really spend quality time together.  This is the feeling I wanted to document.  Our togetherness.

In fact I have entered this layout in the monthly challenge over at More than Words.

They have such cool challenges and this month it is:

so that's a great fit for my layout as there's an ampersand on my flair, and the layout is a celebration of my partner and I being together.

You can check out the challenge HERE

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard on my layout:

"Happiness is this Title"
"6" Revolution Frame"
"Tiny Hearts and Stars"
"Circular Panel"

Here's a close up of my work:

I cut up the "Circular Panel", and painted it black.

I also painted some "Tiny Hearts" and the "Happiness is This" title black.

I added Glossy Accents to the "Happiness is This" title to give it a high gloss/resin finish.

I painted some of the "Tiny Hearts" red.

I embossed the "6" Revolution Frame" with White Emboss Powder.

And.......here is the process video of my layout, so you can see how I created it!

I hope you check it out.

I'll be back to share my second layout real soon!

She has Super powers....

Happy Friday everyone!!

Today I'm sharing with you a layout created for All About Scrapbooks using

Such gorgeous colours!!!!

I started with white cardstock, and added white gesso.

Once dry, I mixed a few of my Dylusions Paint together to create colours similar to those in the paper range.
I painted large sections across my cardstock.

I then added lots of stickers and ephemera, and my photo.
Pretty simple really, but when a range is so gorgeous, it really makes scrapping easy!

I adore the navy, coral and mint.
Three of my favourite colours.

I then journalled on my page, and trimmed the layout down slightly and placed on a gorgeous patterened paper.
This created a border for the layout.

See you next week!!!!

You make me Happy.....

Good morning everyone.

This week I'm sharing a layout for All About Scrapbooks - the online store where I get a lot of my scrappy supplies.

I adore being on their Design Team and creating for them each week.

So this week my kids went back to school this week so I managed a bit of creative play.

I felt like getting a bit painty, my go to paints are Dylusions - love the vibrant colours.

I began by applying white gesso to my background.

I then got out 3 different paints - a turquoise, an emerald and a lime.

I kinda just added a bit of this, and a bit of that to my brush, and lots of water.

As soon as I saw the awesome colour combo, I knew I wanted to pair it with just simple black and white.

So I hunted through my leftover bits of Bella Boulevard and Simple Stories.

I created a few layers behind my photos, and then embellished with 2Crafty Chipboard.

I used a title, a revolution frame, clustered hearts and some little mini hearts too.

I painted some white, and some black.

To my title I added Glossy Accents to give a high gloss/resin finish.

After I had finished I stood back, and felt it needed something else.

I flicked white gesso onto the page.

I added black paint to the border of the layout and I also swiped some black paint over the chipboard frame.

Aaah, that's better, that pulled it all together!!

I hope you enjoyed this layout, I sure had fun creating it.

See you soon!

I'm on the Scrap the Girls Design Team!!! plus February Challenge

Good morning everyone!

I'm so happy to share I'm staying on the Scrap the Girls Design Team for another term!!
Yippee!!

I really love their challenges each month so I'm happy to be continuing.
A new design team has been announced and it is pretty damn cool!!  Working with this lot is going to be fabulous, so inspiring.

You can find the announcement of the team HERE.

So onto our first challenge.

This month the challenge is:

and here's my take on it:

I really enjoyed creating this layout as I'm usually a one or two photo girl.  It's quite rare that I scrap with more than 3.  When I saw this my first thought was 'Uh Oh', but when I sat down to do it, it came together really quickly!!

Here's some close ups of my layout.

I used some 2Crafty Chipboard and goodies from Kit the Habit.

This month I am proud to announce that my very own Kit the Habit is the sponsor!!

Kit the Habit is the collaboration of myself and Emma Zappone aka Emzascrapper.
We have a facebook group from where we offer random inspiration, fun stuff and occasional exclusive kits totally designed and made by us!!
Anyone who's creative or who would like to be can join so put in a join request and we will see you on the other side! LOL!

I've used quite a few bits and pieces from Kit the Habit including a flair, buttons, die cuts and some of our Little Bit of Randoms. So fun to include these on my page.

To win yourself a prize pack from Kit the Habit with lots of randomness and quirkiness just have a go at this month's challenge and link it to the Scrap the Girls Blog by the end of the month!

I can't wait to see what you come up with.
