Saying goodbye to 2Crafty Chipboard.....

Hi Creative Souls....
I hope you had a lovely Christmas and get some extra family time in over the next few days.

It is with a heavy heart that I share my final project for 2Crafty Chipboard.
Life has taken over a little, and left less time for my creative pursuits, so it's time to say goodbye.....

I've loved sharing with you over the last couple of years and I absolutely have had so much fun with the chipboard.  I just love that it's a blank canvas, ready for me to add colour and texture.

So before I get too weepy, here's my final project.....

A heartfelt one about my daughter growing up.
She's about to take that huge step into the world and looking back it feels as though it was just yesterday that I held her in my arms and my heart burst!
It really does happen in a blink of the eye.

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

"NEW 12 inch Floral Heart Frame"
"Botanical Border"
"Beyond Words Title"

I just adore that 12" Heart Frame, and knew it was perfect for this page.
I began by coating it in white gesso, and then I went in with my watercolours.
I individually covered the flowers and leaves.
It took time, but I just love the result.
I adore the washed look of the watercolour.
Colourful and imperfect.
(a bit like me)

Once I had finished, I added some doodling with a black pen.
It gives it a whimsical feel that goes so well with the watercolour.

I then trimmed some of the flowers, leaves and stems from the "Botanical Border".
I applied white gesso, and then added watercolour.
I went for a two-tone effect, and this pop of yellow just lifted the whole layout.
I then added these to my clusters.

For my "Beyond Words title", I laid it on top once everything else was in place.
I coated in white paint and then added Dimensional Magic to give it a resin/gloss like appearance.
This just helped it to stand out from the rest of the layout.

There we have it, so arty and colourful...

I thought I'd go out with an explosion of colour, and share some of my favorite layouts using 2Crafty Chipboard....

Much creative love
xx

2Crafty Chipboard share

Hi Creative souls
OOOOOPS!!
I forgot to share this recent creation for 2Crafty Chipboard!
Better late than never right?

A layout celebrating sharing moments.

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:
"A Moment with You title"
"Corner Twig Branches" NEW
"Trudi's Vine"

I coated all pieces in white gesso.

I then added some soft watercolours to them to go with the layout.
I added some yellow, some grey and some soft pink.

For the "A Moment with you" title, I added pink only to the word moment....

So soft and subtle....

I trimmed down some of the "Corner Twig Frames".
I wanted them to mirror the tree in the photo.

I also added soft pinks and greys to "Trudi's Vine".
I then trimmed these down. and clustered them around the photo.

I really love the softness of this layout.
The pastels are a nice change for me from the usual bold bright colours I'm usually drawn to.

Watercolours on chipboard is a lovely soft finish.

That's it from me today.

I'll see you later in the month.

Pure Joy for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello creative souls!

I've popped in to share my first festive layout, created for 2Crafty Chipboard.

A soft layout that tells a story about the pure joy of giving.

Last year on Christmas Day we gave up a few hours of our time to prepare a feast, wrap gifts and decorate a hall for those in our area who are less fortunate than us and who were spending Christmas alone.
All of the gifts and food were donated, and it was such a lovely way to start our day, and definitely a feeling that not only stayed with us throughout the day, but throughout the year.

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:
"Pure Joy" title
"ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars"
"Mini Houses"
"Winter Twig Branches"
NEW "Mixed Fine Border Set"

I used the "Mini Houses" to go with the theme of 'Community' and 'it takes a village'.
I covered them with white gesso and then added some watercolour paints in grey, pink and aqua, to go with my colour pallette.
I then added some outlines with a pen for a cute whimsical feel.

I added in all different types of trees, and the "Winter Twig Branches" fitted in perfectly.
I painted these white and then added some fine clear glitter......I wasn't perfect with this, I wanted the glitter to be a bit random - a bit like sparkly lights in the trees.

Along the bottom of my cluster I added one of the borders from the
 NEW "Mixed Fine Border Set".
I love the delicateness of this and the leaf theme just worked perfectly.
I simply added a few coats of white gesso.

For my title, I painted the "Pure Joy" in a few coats of white gesso, and then added clear fine glitter.
This again gives that 'light' feel, and also reminds me of snow.

Finally, I painted a few of the "Mini Stars" in white gesso, and added some watercolour, and sprinkled these through the layout.

That's it from me today.....
I love that I can use chipboard to help tell my story.
I think there's a 2Crafty Chipboard for everything!

I hope this layout reminds you of the real meaning of Christmas....giving - and not just presents but yourself.

My latest 2Crafty Chipboard Share

Hello there!

I'm here today to share my latest for 2Crafty Chipboard....

A layout documenting my son's first job!!
Yep he is awesome!

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

"Assorted Arrows"
"Aidan's Arrows"
"You are awesome title"
"Aztec Arrows Set 1"

I began by using the "Aidan's Arrows" as a stencil.
I placed them randomly on the page and then added some spritz.
When I lifted them up, they had left a cool background pattern.

I then added a few splodges of paint to the pieces of "Aidan's Arrows" Chipboard to give it a grungy look.
Such a cool way to use chipboard - a 2 for 1 technique!!

I applied white gesso to a few of the "Assorted Arrows" and then added a few layers of spritz and ink until I'd achieved the colour I was after.
I then added these randomly to the layout.

I applied the same technique to the 'awesome' part of the "You are Awesome" Title.

To the reminder of the title, I added black paint.
It gave a nice grungy contrast.

Finally, I added black paint to one of the arrows from the NEW "Aztec Arrows Set 1".
I LOVE everything about this piece of chippy!!
The size, the style.
Just gorgeous!!

There you have it!!

A grungy boy layout this time.
I hope that this has inspired you today to try a bit of grunge, or try using your chippy as a stencil.

That's it from me for today.
See you again soon.
