2 Crafty inspiration and 7Dots challenge!

Hello there creative souls

I've just popped in to share my latest 2Crafty Chipboard Creation titled:

"A Glimpse of You"

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

"A Glimpse of You title"
"Mini Branches"
"Fine Snowflakes"
"Assorted Polaroid Frames"

I began by coating some of the "Assorted Polaroid Frames" in white gesso and then added white acrylic paint.

I added these to the background of the layout.

I swiped some Metallique Wax over the "Mini Branches" and added these to the cluster.

I love the effect of the wax....and it smells so good!

For the "A Glimpse of You title", I added Distress Oxide and a touch of white gesso to give it a more pastel shade of green.

I love that I can add these titles over my photos.

The font is gorgeous!!
Fine, yet detailed.

To finish off my cluster, I cut some of the sprigs from the "Fine Snowflakes" and coated them in a brown ink.

I then poked them throughout the cluster.

This just finishes off the layout.

Now when I sat down to create this layout, I was a little at a loss.

I'd had a busy couple of days and had only a couple of hours to pull something together.

I like my pages to come together quickly, so when this happens, I immediately go searching for inspiration in the form of a challenge.

I couldn't go past the one over at 7Dots Studio......

Sigh...I can always rely on finding inspiration in their mood boards.

I found inspiration in the colours and the nature theme.

Once I found a suitable photo, there was no stopping me - it came together quickly.

It really sparks my ideas and gets the creativity flowing.

It gives me direction and also forces me to try new things.

I used loads of 7Dots Products - the background sheet is from Nature Walk. I used the Dreamscapes Stencil, Tags and Stamps. I also used Garden Party Word Stickers, Airmail Element Die Cuts and even a bit of Verano Azul 6x6 Paper Pad.

I adore that they all co-ordinate so beautifully.
I source all my 7Dots goodies locally, from a South Australian store Scrap Matrix.

I'll be back again real soon with some more scrappy stuff.

Guest designing 2 months in a row at 7Dots Studio!!!

Guess what!!!

I'm a Guest Designer again over at 7Dots Studio!!!!

It's always been a dream of mine, and I was thrilled that it came true last month.  What could be better than that????
Guest Designing AGAIN!!
That's what!

I'm on a creative high, so let's go and take a look at what they had to say about me.....

Hello friends. Do you miss Spring? I do.
Spending time outside, gazing at the stars… I do miss warmer days.

Tammy Klingner is today our Guest Designer and her layout will give you a bit of warmth

Let’s Meet....

G’day, my name is Tammy Klingner and I live in the beautiful Clare Valley in Australia with my two amazing teenage children. I have been scrapbooking in one form or other for 14 years! I can’t imagine not having the creative outlet. It’s my peace, my joy and my sanity. I absolutely adore colour and you will find vibrant colour on most of my layouts. I also love to use paint and all things mixed media!. I absolutely love 7 Dots Studio products and am so thrilled to be guest designing here. Thank you!

I was inspired by the gorgeous colours of the mood board and that magic light that was evident in lots of the images.

Recently, on a family holiday we spent a night sitting at the beach, watching the sunset and then enjoying the view by the light of the moon. How lucky am I to be able to do this, to forget all my daily worries and just enjoy the magic of the moment. I used a photo I snapped on that night – it just fit the theme perfectly and by including it on this layout, it means I can always remember how magical the night was.

I began by adding some colour to the background by applying some Ink Spray onto my fave 7Dots Stamp – Hazy Days. That paint splatter appears on most of my backgrounds. It looks great in black ink and it also looks great in colour. I then added some stamping to my background using another stamp from this set and also a triangular background stamp from the Dreamscapes Collection. This time I went with black.

I then layered lots of tags and embellishments from a variety of 7Dots ranges as a background to my photos. I also added some to the top right corner of my page. This helps create the visual triangle that enables they eye to focus on the layout, and be drawn into it. I really love that all the 7Dots ranges complement each other. I love using a bit from this range and a bit from that range. It really makes the process fun and different every time!

I hope this inspires you to get creating, why not join in the fun of the 7Dots Challenge this month!
Thanks so much for having me. I’m thrilled to be asked to be a Guest Designer again!

There you have it.....

Thanks so much 7Dots Studio for having me again.

I also used loads of 2Crafty Chipboard in this one.

Here's a look at the challenge that inspired the layout.....

Hello Everyone!

The end of our January play is coming to an end. We still want to inspire you even if you have shared your project with us already, maybe you can make another one ;)Here is a beautiful project from our next Guest Designer this month! Create your own unique project and share it with us!

I had so much fun creating this layout of my niece and brother in law in the USA. This photo of them reminded me of a nest, which was totally inspired by the nature and bird images in the moodboard. So I actually added a mini nest to my layout and had fun adding feathers, metals, chipboard etc to go with the theme. I found the Northern Lights paper was perfect and I added a few word stickers as they just suited the theme so well. As always I added lots of tags from a variety of 7 Dots collections. I love that all of the ranges complement each other. I think everything I create has at least two 7Dots tags. They are my favourite! I also used the colours in the moodboard as inspiration, adding blue watercolour as my background. I’m really happy with my creation, and even happier that another precious moment has been captured forever. Thank you for having me here and I hope it has inspired you!

Merry Christmas!!! A magical layout for 2Crafty Chipboard

Merry Christmas to you all!!!

I really hope this one is magical and full of joy for you all.

I'm here today to share a Christmas Day layout for 2Crafty Chipboard.

 It's titled:

'The Magic of Christmas'

The inspiration from this layout came from the current challenge over at 7Dots Studio:

I used the colours as my starting point.

I was also inspired by the Christmas Tree, the lights, the pinecones.
So much inspiration!

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

'Winter Twig Branches'
'Pine Needle Wreath'
'Flourish Adornment Set 4'
'The Magic of Christmas Title'

I added ink to the title 'The Magic of Christmas'.

I just love the script style, and decided to use two different colour inks.
I love how this looks.

I added white acrylic paint to the 'Pine Needle Wreath'.

So simple, yet effective.

I added white acrylic paint to the 'Winter Twig Branches', but then stamped them with a script stamp and black ink.

I also used this stamp in the background of my layout.

I love tying elements like that together.

I added some brown ink to some of the flourishes in the 'Flourish Adornment Set 4' pack.

Such a lovely effect - I love the earthiness, and the rustic feel this creates.

I love this time of year.

The light, the magic.

I love it all.

That is it from me for the year!

I've loved sharing with you throughout 2018 and can't wait to inspire you with some more creativity in the New Year.

Until then, have a wonderful Christmas.

I wish you love and light.
