Sassy Scrappers June Challenge

Have you seen the latest mood board at Sassy Scrapper??  It's gorgeous!  They always put together the most stunning collection of pics that send me running straight to my scrap room!

Simply stunning!
Immediately the blue jumped out at me....and also the balloon.....it reminded me of a photo/story I really wanted to scrap.  Also, I loved the watercolour.  Lately I've been playing around with some watercolour pencils/paints to create backgrounds and I am absolutely loving them - both the process and the results.
So here's my entry:

This page is a personal one, dedicated to my amazing and beautiful mum.  She was a huge fan of the colour Blue, and whenever I see blue I think of her.  At her funeral, we asked everyone to wear the colour blue, and looking out at that sea of blue was simply beautiful, I knew mum would love it.  Also at her funeral, her 3 grandchildren let go of blue balloons.  When the 1 year anniversary of her passing came around, I really wanted to do something involving the kids.  So we went for a walk, and let go of a blue balloon each.  We watched them float upwards until we couldn't see them anymore.  It was beautiful, and gave an extremely difficult day a beautiful memory.  This layout honours this.

I had been 'putting off' scrapping this story, although it was important to me to document.  I'm so glad I have done it, so thankyou to Sassy Scrappers for sparking that.
I love how this craft is so therapeutic for me.

Thanks for stopping by.

  3. What a beautiful tribute Tammy. I find the stories that mean the most to me, can be the hardest to scrap. How lucky we are to be able to express ourselves this way x
