Having a play with Uniquely Creative stuff!!

Hi everyone,

I was lucky enough to be asked to play with this month's Mini Kit by Uniquely Creative called 'Indigenous Journey'!

I may have squealed when I opened the beautiful parcel!!  One word.....gorgeous.

The kit contains some stamps, stencils and a few embellishments too.
Plus I was thrilled to receive their new watercolour set and an Essentials Stamp too.
Lucky girl.

I love that they are local, designed here in South Australia! So cool.
I've had a play with their stamps and stencils before so I knew they were great quality.
I was itching to try out their watercolours.

As soon as I saw everything, the ideas began to flow...... I just love that feeling!
Actually, the ideas didn't just flow, they kinda flooded (lol) and I ended up creating 4 layouts!!

So let's take a look.......

Love that 'Indigenous stripes stencil' in the background, which I added a watercolour background to, inspired by the rainbow scarf in the photo.
Those watercolour paints are awesome.  Lovely bright colours, right up my alley!
For this layout I used 'Lemon', 'Cerulean blue', 'Viridian', and 'Rose'.

This photo was taken of my niece from the USA, when they were visiting last year.
So those word embellishments just suited it perfectly.

See those gorgeous kraft flowers that are framing the photo? Those are cut from the post bag that my goodies came in.....yep you can totally understand why I squealed, and it was just too beautiful to discard, so I cut them out and added them to my layout.
Recycling at it's best!!

You'll see a couple of little circles tucked amongst the layers.
I stamped some of the circle stamps using the 'Indigenous Textures Stamp' onto cardstock and cut out the circles.

Those chevron triangles are also cut out of these stamped circles from the 'Indigenous Textures Stamp'.

Ok, so let's take a look at the second layout......

I created a watercolour background by painting some trees (inspired by the photos), and also letting some run down the page.
I used the colours 'Prussian Blue', 'Grey', 'Sepia', 'Cerulean blue', 'Viridian' and 'White'.

So therapeutic, just sitting and painting trees!

I added a few flicks of watercolour to the top section of the layout.

I used the word embellishments and the title cut to begin my journaling.

This layout celebrates our daily walk from the beach whilst on our annual holiday.
Every time I walk behind my tribe, this is my view and it makes me a little emotional, as each year the kids get taller and older.
It's one of those moments that I want to hold in my heart forever.

Let's take a look at my third layout......

Another rainbow watercolour background.
Easy, fun and effective.
I used 'Rose', 'Lemon', 'Viridian', 'Cerulean Blue' and a mix of 'Cerulean Blue' and 'Rose' to create the purple.
I really wanted to include purple as it just went so perfectly with the photos.

I painted  those flowers onto watercolour paper, using the 'grey' watercolour from the set.

I then cut them all out.  I love the contrast of the black and white against the bright rainbow colours.

I also added in a cut title 'Sunshine' from my little stash of 'Uniquely Creative' supplies.

I stamped that little 'go for it girls' from the 'Creative Quotes' Stamp.

I added another stamp from this set to the bottom of the layout, as part of my journaling.

Perfect!
And see those little hearts, they came from a Uniquely Creative Die cut in my stash too.

Now for the final layout......

A messy and grungy 'boy' page.

I began by swiping black gesso through the 'Indigenous Stripes Stencil' quite randomly across the middle of the page.
Once this dried, I added some watercolour paint in the colours 'Cerulean blue' and 'Viridian'.

I then stamped some of the circles from the 'Idigenous Textures Stamp' onto cardstock. Some of these I stamped in black ink and some I stamped with the watercolours. I then cut them out.
I love the effect of this. I used the colours 'Viridian', 'Cerulean Blue, 'Prussian Blue' plus I added some 'Lemon' and 'Champagne' to get a lime colour.

I added some paint and some pen doodles around some of them.

I then added in some of the word embellishments.

They were perfect for this layout, documenting my boy and our love of geo-caching together.

That cut title was also the perfect choice.

There you have it!!
Told you I got carried away.
