Study Study Study......

Hi everyone, well it's the end of the week already, which means it's my turn to share my latest scrappy creation for All About Scrapbooks.

This week I had a play with the new gorgeous Bella Boulevard Addison ranges.
I also added a splash or two of Jillibean Soup Chit Chat Chowder.
I adore these new ranges - so bright and colourful, perfect for my teenage children!

Because of the bright colours, I chose to go with a white background.
I added a few splashes of watercolour, and then began layering up my papers.

I always add black when using bright colours -  I think it 'grounds' everything, and also I think it makes the bright colours seem a bit more 'teenagery' (is that a word?! Lol)

I added a few strips down one side - I love that they have a paper designed for this.
I also cut and tore into a few papers to use as layers around my photo.

I added some 2Crafty triangles, covering some in the bright scraps on my desk,
and also using the negative of the chipboard to trace some triangle shapes directly onto my background paper using a black pen.

I like the 'fun feel' this gives the layout, and I think it works well with the story of the layout
 - it's all about how my 15 year old daughter - gorgeous creature that she is - studies.
It's something I always want to remember about her.

I then added some lettering for my title, and included some cute embellishments and stickers as well as the most important part - the journaling!!

Well that's it from me this week.
I'll see you all again next week.

She has superpowers....

Good morning everyone!
Today I'm sharing a page created for All About Scrapbooks.

Can you believe it's already Friday?
And can you believe it's the middle of November?! Eeeek!

This week I've been playing with a stack of Bella Boulevard.
A bit of Addison and a bit of Illustrated Faith.

All the bright colours make me so happy!
I love how they co-ordinate so well.  I love mixing them up a little!!

I began this page by selecting the background page.
This one jumped out at me as it's my teenage daughter's favourite colour, plus this page already had flicks of paint on it - and in my 'go-to' paint flicking colour, black - PERFECT!

I then added a couple of strips of paper and a few matts around the photo.
I selected word papers for the matts - those of you who know my work know I LOVE words, and this page involved a story about words, and how they are my daughter's superpower.  So the word paper totally goes with the theme.

I then added a few embellishments in co-ordinating colours,
my title and journaling and ta-da I was done!!
Didn't even finish it off with a few flicks of paint - they were already there!!

A trio of Superhero's

Good morning everyone!

Well I am officially back! Back from the most amazing adventure overseas! I will do a blog post about the amazing trip soonish......

Right now I'm feeling very grateful and super keen to scrap some of our precious memories.

The first one I've created for All About Scrapbooks and features a couple of photos from the Star Walk in Hollywood......

For this layout, I used the awesome Crate Paper's Cool Kid range.
Such a great boyish range - and the sayings matched my photo's perfectly!

This layout was a pretty quick one.
I was very restrained, and only did a little stamping on my background before adding a few strips of paper, my photos and the embellishments.

I really love the embellishments in this range.  They are perfect for boys of any age, but particularly work well with my young teen.  The only thing I added was some 2Crafty Chipboard stars and arrows (which I painted silver, red and black), and a bit of black thread.
That's it!

Have a great weekend, and I'll be back real soon with some more scrappy goodness!

Boys will be Boys.....creating with Cool Kid

Good morning everyone!

It's my turn to share over at All About Scrapbooks, and this week I've used the AWESOME Cool Kid range from Crate Paper
I adore this range!! So very cool, and just perfect for those of us with boys.

I began by adding some gesso and paint to white bazzill.  I didn't overthink the painting, just a few quick swipes.

I found some embellishments from the ephemera pack that went beautifully with my photos, and the story I wanted to tell.

I then added a strip of black and white patterned paper, and some 2Crafty Chipboard to my page.

I then finished the page with my journaling and a few flicks of paint.

I can't wait to create some more with this fabulous range.
I just love how a new range can inspire me so much, and makes me crave some creativity time.

Scrap the Girls - November Reveal!

Hi everyone

So the first of the month brings with it NEW challenges! Always get excited jumping from site to site checking out their challenges, working out which ones I'd like to do (I don't seem to get many done anymore.....all my Design Team commitments keep me busy, busy, busy) - not complaining, I LOVE it!!

This month over at Scrap the Girls we have a sketch.

And here's my take on it....

I love how this sketch involved 4 photos.  I'm such a one photo scrapper, so it was nice to create with a series of photos

You may notice that I flipped the sketch.  I was struggling with getting it to come together the other way, I turned my page, and da da! it worked.

I added some journaling to a tag and tucked that behind the layers behind the photo.

I had a bit of fun with watercolours and using up things from my stash, most of them I got from All About Scrapbooks.

So  I hope you have a go this month, I really love seeing all your entries!
Plus we have a prize from D-Lish Scraps for the winner.

What have you got to lose?

See you again soon, happy scrapping!
