My Second Share for April for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hi everyone

Just popping in to share my second layout for 2Crafty Chipboard for April.

It's titled:

"A Moment Captured"

Another bright layout.

This one is about a drive in the car that the kids and I do quite regularly that's long and there's not a lot of scenery to look at along the way, or towns to stop in, so we make our own fun.

Yep it involves singing, laughing, and lots of nonsense!

For this layout I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard

"Circular Panel"
"Trudi's Vine"
"A Moment Captured Title"
"ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars"

I just love that floral border called "Trudi's Vine".
I painted this black and placed it down the left side of my layout.

It's just gorgeous!

I also painted the "A Moment Captured title" in black.

I cut out some circles from the "Circular Panel" and painted some in pink and some in yellow to go with the colour theme of my layout.

I also painted some of the little hearts from the "ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" pack in pink and yellow too.

This is quickly becoming one of my favourite pieces of chippy,
and is appearing on most of my layouts.

I love how they fill in those little spots and bring the layout together.

I added the painted chippy around the vine piece and then added more embellishments - flowers, brads, tags, quotes, acrylic pieces, and flairs.

I have used a flair and some cool musical quotes and acrylic music notes all from my very own

LOVE LOVE LOVE!
They were just perfect for this story.

Well that's it  from me!

I hope you enjoy my bright, colourful and fun layouts.

My first April share for 2Crafty Chipboard - Video Tutorial!!

Seriously?!?
It's April?

When and how did that happen??

So that means its time to share my first layout designed for 2Crafty Chipboard this month.

It's titled

"Living the Dream"

Yep lots of colour!!!

This photo was taken on our recent family trip to the USA, specifically in Houston.
Oh how I loved this wall!!
I knew I had to scrap it, but I wasn't sure how to capture the colour and grunginess of it.
So I decided to start with bright paint and go from there......

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard on this layout:

"Circle Frames"
"Stars"
"ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars"
"Chevron Bits"
"Living the dream title"

I painted the "Living the Dream" title black.

I also painted some of the "Stars" black too, plus a few of the gorgeous little stars in the
 "ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars".

Some of these starts I then applied Glossy Accents to give them a resin like finish.

As I was working with a lot of bright colour, I wanted to add quite a bit of black to my layout.
This gave it a 'grungy' feel rather than a rainbow feel, and also really grounded the page.

I painted some of the "Circle Frames" in a lime and vibrant blue.

To grunge these up a little, I added some random stamping with black ink.

I painted some of the "Chevron Bits" in orange, and then added some black ink to keep with the grunge feel.

I've also created a VIDEO TUTORIAL of this page so you can watch how my layout
came together.....

You will see I changed my mind on colours as I went!

It really shows that I start with a plan, but it always changes along the way.

I'm still very new to this Video Tutorial business, so I hope you take the time to watch it, and I hope you enjoy it.

I'll be back again real soon.

Love Tam

April Challenge for Kraft Plus!!

Hi everyone!!

This month Kit the Habit is the one of the sponsors over at Kraft Plus.

We have a bundle of Kit the Habit goodies to give away, so head on over to the Kraft Plus Blog and check it out!!

So I've been asked to participate as a guest designer in their April Challenge!! How cool is that?
I love their challenges and don't seem to find the time very often anymore to participate.
So this is perfect.....a deadline! Lol.

So this month's challenge is:

Swatch it up...... use a Paint swatch on your layout....Cool huh?

Here's my take on it:

Lots of Kit the Habit goodies and some 2Crafty Chipboard too!!

Most of the page was created with our latest Kit called 'Shine'.

I have to say this one had me stumped for quite a while.

My local hardware store didn't have the kind of paint swatch I had in my head - so I had to rethink which means lots of reshuffling!!

I ended up using 2 different types of paint swatches.

Isn't it funny - the names of paint colours! Some are so creative and others are well.......interesting.
I wonder who has that as a job?

So that's it from me for this post.

I can't wait to see all your entries.

For more inspiration head over to the Kraft Plus Blog - their designers are incredible and they always have such awesome layouts.

Scrap the Girls April Challenge

Seriously, how can it be the first of April??

Noooo! Seriously in the blink of an eye it's gonna be the end of the year.

Well one awesome thing about another month gone means new challenges!!
And today I have a few to share.

First up - it's Scrap the Girls

This month it's a mood board.

Immediately when I look at this mood board I think of the beach, so a photo from our trip to the beach earlier this year will be perfect!
Plus now that it's officially Autumn, I'm dreading the winter months so scrapping some summer photos kind of prolongs the whole thing. Right?

Anyway, here's my take on the challenge:

Love the green colour!!
To bring out the beachy sand I bordered the layout with Kraft and also added a torn piece of cardboard.

I was also inspired by the heart on the moodboard so I added a 2Crafty Chipboard heart frame and a couple of fussy cut paper hearts.

The transparent pebbles on the moodboard reminded me of sequins - so I added some round ones and some flower ones to the layout.

My one little word for this year is LIGHT, so I've used a 2Crafty Chipboard title, and journalled all about my beautiful daughter and the connection we have.

It's all about how her light ignites my light and vice versa.

About how letting out own light shines allows others to do the same,
as stated by the inspiring Nelson Mandella:

"As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same"

This month the sponsor is UmWow Studio.

A very cool USA company specialising in flairs, chipboard and masks.

So why not join in this month.
I can't wait to see your entries.
