Always

Happy FriYay!!

I'm back with another layout using the gorgeous Pink Paislee Fancy Free Collection available from All About Scrapbooks.

This is a simple layout.  The gorgeous background paper I used is the reason why.

I'm sure you've all been seeing the trend of painting with acrylic paint directly onto your background page (I used this technique last week).

For those of you who don't have the time to create your own backgrounds, or perhaps you don't have all the 'stuff' needed - this background paper is your answer!
It's painted for you!
I just wish it came in every colour!!

As the hard work was done, I simply did some layering with paper and
a few bits of 2Crafty Chipboard.
To finish I added a flair, some thread, and some of the gorgeous embellishments from the range.

Simple AND Easy!!

CRAZY Project Life!

Hi everyone

Here to share another Project Life spread......I've been playing catch up (well trying to)

This time I used the fun CRAZY Kit from Kit the Habit (aka myself and Emzascrapper).

I love the bright colours, and well yeah the craziness of it all!

One of the reasons Emma and I began this little venture was that we wanted real life sayings for our Project Life and scrapbooking.  We wanted sayings that fitted our lives, we wanted quirkiness.
So much of what is out there to use is all 'Perfect Moment' and 'cherish' etc, and yes these fit Project Life on a good day.  But my life is not all roses and perfection.  Some days its pretty ordinary, some days it's a struggle, some days its just crazy, and that is the REALITY of life.

Here's the left side:

And the right:

And a bit of a close up:

One of the other things I love is that we design/make it all...... (with the exception of 2Crafty who supply the cool chipboard).
We design the gorgeous acrylic shapes.
We design the papers, the foils, the acetates.
We design/make the flairs.
We design/make the randoms.
We make the die cuts.

So it's very us.

A lot of the papers are designed from special places we've travelled, or things from our backyard etc.  They are very personal and unique to us, and hopefully you love them as much as we do.

If you'd like to have a play with this kit, at the moment there are a couple left.

To order a kit, find Kit the Habit on Facebook, and simply comment on one of the photos of the kits, and we will be in touch!

Let's Get Loud! - Project Life

Hi everyone

Well I've finally found some time to do some Project Life with the awesome Let's Get Loud Kit from the very awesome Kit the Habit!
Lol.....I can say that because Kit the Habit is ME and my amazing friend Emzascrapper.

Let's Get Loud is the third Kit we have released, and this one is totally inspired by music and song lyrics.....many of our faves are in there, and they are just perfect for documenting Project Life.

Here's the left side:

And the right:

I loved making all the song lyrics in the 'Little Bit of Randoms' fit my weekly spread! Fun!

We still have a few kits left if you haven't purchased yours yet.
Here's what a kit looks like:

All you do to purchase one is find Kit the Habit on Facebook.
If you aren't already a member, we will approve you, and then you just type SOLD, or Yes please or something like that underneath the photo of the kit you would like to purchase.

I'll be back soon!

Happy Dance!

Hi everyone

It's my turn to share my latest layout I created for All About Scrapbooks, the best place to order your scrapbooking supplies.
I love it!! Such great colours!

One of my favourite things about this range, is the 'painted' look on the papers.
So all the hard work is done for you!
For my background I used one of the watercolour papers (there's a coral and an aqua).
I love how it looks like I've created it!!
Because of this, I didn't do any mixed media!! WHAT!!!
I know, I know - no paint, no gesso!
But with paper this good, it's really not necessary.

The other paper that jumped out at me is the circle paper, with all the cool sayings in them.
The sayings made me laugh - they are very usable, very current.

A couple stood out straight away - 'crazy kids' and 'happy dance'
Immediately it reminded me of a hot summer day we had last summer  It began to drizzle, which is a rarity here in Clare in summer.
My kids were so excited - they ran outside and did a rain dance! They got soaked!!

I punched out various circles, in a couple of different sizes.
I then randomly placed them running down my layout, just to the right of the centre.
When using circles, always have some half circles coming out from your photo, and also from the top and bottom edge.  This creates a more natural feel.
I also added in some hand drawn circles, and some enamel dots to go with the fun 'feel' of the layout.

To finish off, I layered up my photos, added a title and some journaling.

So there you have it!
A layout without mixed media.
I even resisted the flicking of the paint!

Why don't you have a go?

See you next week!
Love Tam xx

You love to draw....

Good morning everyone
Can you believe it's Friday already? Which means it's my turn to share my latest design for All About Scrapbooks.

This week I've been playing with the gorgeous Fancy Free Collection by Pink Paislee.
I adore it!
It's full of great colours, and it has a lovely hand painted/watercolour look.

For this layout, I spread white gesso onto white cardstock.
I then randomly swiped some bright paint around.
I was hoping it would look a bit artsy, as my layout is about my daughter's love of drawing.

I then added some texture over this using texture paste and a stencil.
Once I positioned my photo, I then began adding embellishments around it.
I love the ephemera pack!! So much in there, and so many of them suited this particular story.

I added some painted 2Crafty chipboard.
I used the clustered hearts along with the mini hearts.  They are perfect together.

To finish off my layout, and give it a 'frame', I trimmed 2 of the edges down a little, and placed onto a 12x12 paper from the range.  I love this look.

This layout has been inspired by the lovely Wilna Furstenberg
I was lucky enough to attend 2 classes with her recently at a scrapbooking retreat.
I still can't believe she hung out with us for 3 days!!
Since taking her classes, I've been WAY more adventurous with paint!!
I'm still a little out of my comfort zone, but I love where it is taking me.

I'm back with another layout created using the awesome Let's Get Loud! Kit by Kit the Habit.

I've had so much fun creating with this Kit.
I love all the Randoms (quotes and phrases). They are always my favourite in each kit.
There were so many awesome song lyrics in them I wanted to use, so I cut them out and used them!!

If you've missed out on seeing the 'Let's Get Loud' Kit, here it is.....

Pretty Cool huh??

Forever & Ever....

Hi everyone

This weeks layout for All About Scrapbooks was created using Cocoa Vanilla's Free Spirit Collection.
I love this range.....yes I love every Cocoa Vanilla Range!
Just so easy to work with, and so many cute embellishments that co-ordinate so well.

For this layout, I focused on the gorgeous navy's, teals and pale pinks.
I love how these ranges always have some sort of 'word' paper.
I kept my layering towards the bottom of the page, adding a small cluster of embellishments at the top.

Some of the embellishments are attached using foam tape, to give some depth to the layout.

I cut the title out of a 12x 12 paper. I've been doing this a lot lately!

This photo was taken just prior to our beautiful boy Slinko's passing last year.
Oh how we miss him.
He was just one of those absolutely beautiful cats who was so faithful, so cuddly. So special.
Cats like him don't come along very often.
We were so lucky to know him, and to be his humans.

He was my daughter's cat, and they were inseperable.
They had a very special relationship.
This photo was taken when we knew a goodbye was going to happen.
The two of them laid like this for a very long time.

Precious memories.

Guest Designing for Kraft Plus!!!!

How awesome is this!!
Myself and Emma Zappone aka Kit the Habit are sponsoring Kraft Plus this month.

Kraft plus are the BEST challenge site, such a talented team, and their challenges are always super cool.

This month is no exception, and GUESS WHAT?!? Both Emma and myself were asked to be guest designers!! Such an honour, to mix it with that creative lot.

So here is the challenge:

So excited about this!! It just happens to be music inspired, just like Kit the Habit's latest Kit  release 'Let's Get Loud'. Woohoo!!

So here is my take on it:

So much fun!!

I was inspired by the music sheet paper roses - so I handmade some myself.  I also was inspired by the heart, the ampersand (&) and of course the music feel.

I really enjoyed using our latest Kit 'Let's Get Loud'.  Those acrylic music notes are the cutest! I love the look of the die cut circles and the wire on my layout, and I think my favourite every time is the 'Little Bit of Randoms'. This time you get two!! Yep the original 'Randoms' and an 'Extra bit of Random' too! Two full sheets of music quotes and song lyrics!

Don't forget to check out the other entries over at K plus. You will be blown away!

Scrap the Girls - July Challenge

Hello my lovelies.

Well can you believe it's July already?!?! What!! How and when did that happen?

So it means a new challenge over at Scrap the Girls.....
This month it's a sketch.....

I love it!!
Here's my take on it:

I had a lot of fun creating this.......love the circles, love the clustering, just LOVE IT!!

The cluster on the right hand side contains my journaling.
The words are quite personal, so I slipped them into a pocket.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team's entries HERE.....they are amazing!!

I can't wait to head over to your Blog's and see what you created, so don't forget to link up to the Scrap the Girls Blog.
There's a very generous prize from Scrapbook Boutique.  A $25 voucher from their online store!

Always look on the bright side of Life......

Hello lovely people!

Today I'm sharing a layout close to my heart.
This one was created for All About Scrapbooks - my favourite scrappy store

I had a couple of cards and papers left from the Kaisercraft Finders Keepers range.
One of them had the quote 'Look on the Bright Side'
Immediately I thought of my mum and yep 'Monty Python'.
'Always look on the Bright Side of Life' was my mum's mantra.
It was her final song at the celebration of her life.

This is often how a page begins for me.
A quote in a paper or an embellishment sparks a story in my head.
You see I'm one of those people who can't create a layout, and add a photo later.
I need the story first.
A story to tell my layout around.
It gives me focus.

I created a mixed media background using spritz and a stencil.  I also stamped around the edges of this.  I created this towards one side of the paper, as my aim was to layer everything on top, and have the mixed media background peeking through.
I added layers of woodgrain paper, doilies, and strips of leftover papers.
I love scrapping with strips.  I love the texture that it creates.
I tucked some 2Crafty chipboard and some embellishments in and around the photos.

To finish I added my title and journaling to the right hand side.

I'll be back next week!
