Say what!!!
It's December!!! How on earth has that happened??
Well the Magic Season is here, and we all get busy busy busy, so it was great therapy to create for this month's challenge over at Scrap the Girls.
Here's the mood board titled 'The Christmas Dress' - the idea is to be inspired by one of these dresses! How cute, such a great idea! Don't forget its all about the GIRLS in our lives!
I scrapped my beautiful nieces who live in the USA, and this photo captures their joy at the falling of snow just perfectly.....wishes really do come true! I just love the emotion!
This month we are sponsored by Cut to You - Gwen has the most gorgeous cuts available - you must check them out.
I loved adding a couple of their Christmas trees within my layers.
I left them white as they went perfectly with the snow theme.
I also used a cut for my title 'merry christmas' - I just love the script font and the stars.
I decided to apply gesso to this and then added Dylusions Ink Spray in 'London Blue'. Instead of spraying it on, I opened the bottle and applied with a brush - just love the mottled watercolour effect this gave.
If you follow my work, you know I'm a big user of Dylusions Ink Sprays - I always order mine from Scrap Matrix.

So here's what I came up with:
Inspired by that navy/blue dress with the silver deer!
I was pretty excited when I found that paper in my stash!! Perfect.
I applied a layer of white gesso to go with the snow theme of my layout.

I added some 2Crafty Chipboard cause it was just SO PERFECT!
I used the' Deer Head Set' and applied Antique Silver Emboss Powder.
I also added 'Swaying Branches' into my layers - I added white gesso and then doodled on them a little.
I also added stars from 'Tiny Hearts and Stars'. I added navy ink to these and randomly scattered them.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this awesome challenge.
Sometimes I find Christmas tricky to scrap, but using one of the dresses as my starting point made it easy, and enabled me to use an alternate colour scheme.
Don't forget to pop on over to the blog and check out the rest of the DT's creations, and see which dress inspired them!!
Thanks for hanging with me throughout the year, I wish you a magical December.
Luv Tam
